In addition to these policies, NM-PIC interns are expected to be familiar with and adhere to the policies and procedures of the training site in which they are placed and, in the case of Iina’ Counseling Services at Indian Health Services and NMBHI, interns shall also adhere to the policies and procedures of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, by which they will be employed. Pre-employment conditions, including background checks and drug screenings, are required as a final condition of acceptance/employment as an intern. Background checks and drug screening will be required and may vary across training sites, but will be comprehensive.
