Lauren M. Smith, PhD

Dr. Lauren Smith [she/her] is a licensed clinical psychologist in OH-BH at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) located in Los Alamos, NM. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of North Texas Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine program. She completed her predoctoral internship at the VA Gulf Coast Health Care System in Biloxi, MS and her post-doc fellowship in a traumatic brain injury outpatient clinic in Dallas, TX. Dr. Smith’s clinical work has focused on providing evidence-based treatment to individuals with chronic health conditions and neuropsychological assessment to a wide range of populations. She uses a holistic, trauma-informed approach to assist her patients in living their healthiest lives. Dr. Smith’s research is focused on program evaluation and improvement, and brain injury treatment and assessment. Dr. Smith is involved in the Los Alamos DWI Prevention Council as the Vice President, provides psychoeducation in cardiac and brain health to employees at LANL, and is active in various employee groups at LANL including the Hispanic Employee Resource Group (HOLA), Prism: LGBTQ+ Pride Alliance Group, and the Diverseability Group.
